Global Office: Sync is a purchase, not a rental. There's a small plan on top of it, called the Continuity Plan, and it's what keeps the thing plugged in. Most of the popular software like this charges you every month for life, and at the end of it you own nothing.
You own the freezer.
You still pay for the power.
Global Office: Sync, against separate tools
Covering the same ground today usually means paying for each job separately, and the two biggest are priced per client, so they grow with the practice. Below, for each job, is the lowest priced published plan we could find that covers a whole practice, at three sizes of practice.
| Monthly - Separate Tools | 10 clients | 25 clients | 50 clients |
|---|---|---|---|
| Line-item document capture, priced per client, yearly plan | $207.99 | $411.99 | $701.99 |
| Chasing charges with no receipt, priced per client | $90 | $225 | $450 |
| A practice dashboard with automatic client reminders, yearly plan | $69 | $69 | $69 |
| Collecting insurance certificates and W-9s | $24 | $24 | $24 |
| Separate tools, every month | $390.99 | $729.99 | $1,244.99 |
| Separate tools, over five years | $23,459.40 | $43,799.40 | $74,699.40 |
| $2,197 | $2,197 | $2,197 | |
| What you keep over five years | $21,262.40 | $41,602.40 | $72,502.40 |
Each figure is the lowest priced published plan we found that covers a whole practice for that job, checked on September 23, 2026, for one user, at list price before tax, with no price increases assumed over five years. The document capture and dashboard prices are for yearly plans; paying month to month costs more. Global Office: Sync covers up to fifty clients under fair use. Its five-year total, with the $20 a month included, is $2,197 if you pay the $997 license up front, or $2,280 if you pay the license in twelve monthly payments of $90. What you keep is the difference with the license paid up front; on the twelve monthly payments it's $83 less.
Sources, each checked on September 23, 2026: line-item document capture, Dext Practice Essentials, from its pricing page set to each client count; chasing charges with no receipt, Uncat; the practice dashboard with automatic client reminders, Financial Cents Scale, from its pricing page; certificates and W-9s, CoiLoop Pro.
The Continuity Plan
This isn't spin. It's genuinely where the ongoing work and the ongoing bills go. There are six things it pays for.
QuickBooks, Xero and FreshBooks change their systems often, and keeping up with three other companies never finishes. It's the largest part of this.
Connecting isn't free, either. Intuit and Xero charge app makers every month just to connect to their platforms. This is what pays that bill.
The rate changes, sometimes mid year. When standard mileage is used, every trip is valued at the rate in force on the date it was driven, and that only stays true if somebody keeps the table fed.
For seven years. The IRS usually has three years to come back and ask, six if income was left off a return, and seven for a bad debt claim. Seven years covers the longest of those.
Every page you photograph goes through a scanning service that charges for each one it reads. The reading is the heart of the thing, and it's paid for here rather than one scan at a time.
Every change is sent to a separate storage company within about six minutes, and a full copy is made every night and every week. If the worst happens to the server, your books do not go with it.
Global Office: Sync updates itself the next time you open it. There's nothing to download, no app store to wait on, and no old version for you to fall behind on.
Bank connections
Connect a bank or card account and Sync shows which charges still have no receipt, bill or invoice behind them, and asks for the missing ones. It's optional and read only. It doesn't balance the books and it's not a bank feed: your accounting software keeps doing that.
A connection is one sign-in at one bank. Checking, savings and a card under the same login are one connection. The company that carries the bank data charges us for each one, for every month it's connected, so this is the one part of Sync that's counted instead of included without limit. Global Office: Sync includes 20 connections at a time, Global Office: Sync - Contractors Edition 3 and Global Office: Sync - Solo Edition 1. Each one past that is $2 for every month it stays connected.
The app shows the running total at all times, and tells you before a connection would cost anything. Disconnect one and it stops counting on the first of the next month. A connection that stays broken for 30 days is ended for you, so nothing keeps costing money unnoticed.
If you cancel
Your plan continues until the end of the month you've already paid for. Nothing changes before then. After that, your account is paused.
Your records stay for twelve months after the plan stops. After that, they're removed for good. Sync emails you two weeks before that happens, a week before if you haven't downloaded everything yet, and then the day before.
When you come back (within 12 months of ceasing the plan), remit one month's payment to continue your plan. Your records will be exactly as you left them. You will need to re-establish bank connections, so you'll need to sign in to your bank(s) to reconnect.
You can download your data in Settings at any time (prior to its removal). It's your data, so it's yours to keep either way.
The twelve month track
$110 becomes $20. $55 becomes $10.
Bank connections past the ones your edition includes can add to it, at $2 each, and only in a month you use them.
The twelve month track2 exists so that owning it is possible for somebody who can't write the check today. It costs slightly more than paying up front, because we carry the cost and the risk of spreading the license over a full year. Both numbers are here rather than in the small print: twelve payments of $90 is $1,080 against $997, so $83 more. Twelve payments of $45 is $540 against $497, so $43 more.
Questions people actually ask
Yes, and that's deliberate. Global Office: Sync isn't an accounting system and doesn't want to be. It handles everything that happens to the paperwork before it becomes the books, and then hands the finished entry to the software you already use.
Because a bank feed shows you the charge and leaves you to find the paper. Sync starts from the other side. It already holds the receipts, bills and invoices, so it can show you the charges with nothing behind them and ask the client for the missing ones. The books still get balanced in your accounting software.
Talk to us. We would rather find out whether it fits your paperwork than sell you something that doesn't.
It's fifty clients. A bookkeeper carrying two hundred clients costs many times what one carrying twenty five does, and they'd be paying the same monthly plan, so there's a ceiling. Fifty is well above what most practices carry, and if you're getting near it we'll have spoken long before you get there.
Nothing. It runs in the browser, adds itself to your home screen, and updates itself. There is no app store in the way, on any device.
Yes, for the $200 difference, and that's said here rather than discovered later. Plenty of businesses start small and take somebody on later, and that shouldn't cost you twice.
